Top is laminated figured cherry, back is laminated figured yellow birch, and side are solid figured yellow birch, all in vintage “kind of” burst finish.
The cumaru fretboard really feels like a very hard rosewood, really fun to play!
Despite the 24.625″ scale directly inspired by those vintage guitars, this guitar has a really “twangy” sound, thanks to the custom ordered McNelly pickups and the yellow birch.
The Wide Range bridge pickup (McNelly Stagger Swagger) cover a larger spectrum of frequency and the humbicker sized P90 in the neck (McNelly St Nick) has this very round and beefy sound. The middle position is all about twang, it is time to play your country licks !
Also, note the beautiful silver foil custom cover from McNelly for the pickups, I really love them.
Pickups ring are made of black walnut.
Gotoh nikel open gear tuner (SXN510v), bone nut and nikel fret.
